Making a MineCraft Server is real easy, you just need to follow these instructions carefully.
Step 1: Getting Hamachi. http://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi2/download.aspx
Check the box below that says 'Conditions of Use'.
Click 'Download Now'
Download and run the file.
Step 2: Setting up Hamachi.
Start Hamachi up and click on the 'System' tab.
Next click on 'Preferences'
Now click on the blue 'change...' button next to your computer's name.
Type in your MineCraft In-Game Name and press enter twice.
Step 2.2: Creating your Hamachi network.
First click on 'Create a new network'.
Set the Hamachi ID and password(usually 123).
Now that you've connected to your Hamachi network, time for the hard part.
Step 3: Setting up the actual server.
Download the server files from mediafire.com mediafire.com/download.php?kztxaeyyh9bb4mu
Extract them to C:\(Local Disk)
Replace the outdated craftbukkit.jar with the latest version from http://cbukk.it/craftbukkit.jar
Go to the folder you extracted the files to.
Double-click on RUN.bat, when it says 'DONE!', close it.
Open the newly-created 'server.properties' with Notepad.
Change the stuff after 'server-ip=' to your Hamachi IP.
Close and save 'server.properties'.
Now open 'ops.txt' with Notepad.
Put your Minecraft In-Game Name on the first line.
Close and save 'ops.txt'
You're ready to start the server!
Step 4: Running the server.
Make a shortcut of RUN.bat to the Desktop.
Rename the shortcut to 'Minecraft Server'
Run the shortcut.
A Command Prompt window pops up, it tells you 'Done!' when the server is up and running.
Step 5: Getting players to join your server.
Just tell your friends and people you know who play Minecraft about the server and tell them to download Hamachi and click on 'Join an existing network' and enter your network's ID and password.
When they have connected to the network, tell them to copy your IP and enter the IP to Minecraft and join.
Now the server can be slow when you first run it, so be sure to wait a while.
Now, if it doesn't work for some reason, see if the solution hasn't been posted yet.
There you have it! Post your Hamachi network ID and password and IP in here and you can get more people to your server!
If the Hamachi network gets full, just make another one and tell them about it.
The purpose of this pack is to add plugin compatibility.
You can get plugins for your server from this site: http://plugins.bukkit.org/
I will not be updating the server files, to update, you only need to replace craftbukkit.jar with the file from http://cbukk.it/craftbukkit.jar
If you still have questions, ask away.
